What it does

Every train, live on the map

Trains move on the map as they move in the world, drawn along their real route. Tap one to see where it is headed; tap a station to see what is coming.

Late, and by how much

Each stop shows its scheduled time next to the projected one, with the delay spelled out — so you can see at a glance whether the padding later in the route is going to absorb it.

The ones you actually take

Favorite a train or a station and it is waiting for you the next time you open the app, without a search.

Find it fast

Search by train number, route, or station name, and jump straight from any result to its place on the map.

Your location is optional

Grant it and the map shows you alongside nearby trains and stations. Decline and everything still works — the app never stores or transmits where you are either way.

Keeps working on a bad connection

Schedule and station data is cached on the device, so the app opens with something useful even when the network is not cooperating.

Where the data comes from

Train positions, schedules, and station data come from Amtrak's own public live-map and static schedule feeds. Data can be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable, and this app has no relationship with Amtrak beyond reading that public data.

Trakam is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amtrak or the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. Don't rely on it alone to catch a train — check with Amtrak for anything that matters.

No account, no tracking

Trakam has no sign-in, no analytics, and no advertising. Favorites live on your device. Location, if you grant it, is drawn on the map and nothing else — never stored, never sent anywhere.
